B & dB

Had a nice day yesterday, with my nephew Graeme, getting the lay of the land in the False Creek area; It seems like where ever you walk there are Pavilions and activities of one sort or the other!

In the evening I headed back to the same area with Nan to show her our finds and to check out the night scene. We found that the False Creek area is far busier during the day which made it easier to go inside the Pavilions representing Quebec and Saskatchewan. The False Creek area, like so many other areas in Vancouver, is absolutely stunning!

We have been inside three Pavilions now and peeked inside others and based on that experience came the title of this post, B & dB, which represents the impression I have so far of what the Pavilions are all about, Booze and Decibels, LOTS of BEER & LOUD Music!!!! – I must be getting old because I did not appreciate it at all :(

What is a delight however, especially in the fantastic spring weather that we are having in Vancouver, is walking around and enjoying the enthusiasm of the people and stopping to watch the buskers, lots of talent out there on the Vancouver streets! Also, of course, Vancouver is a beautiful city!!

Met up with Graeme today for a walk around

I treated Graeme to lunch :)

Looking across False Creek at the Olympic Village

The Irish B & dB Pavilion

The Molson B & dB Pavilion (..the most expensive place to B & dB in Vancouver)

Inside the Saskatchewan B & dB Pavilion

A typical Pavilion dB -- OK, I suppose, if you are already half deaf and like the music!

We went inside the Quebec B & dB too  –  basically all the same theme!

Yep, and many friends ar boozing it up and wrecking their hearing at the B & dB Pavilions – the places are FULL. Not my cup of tea though :)
The best I can tell, a Japadog is a hotdog with a different array of condiments, it had tons of good publicity on the TV etc before the Olympics resulting in long line ups at their stands!! SOooo, we went across the road and bought a regular old hotdog and garnished it with onions, relish, mustard – left out the ketchup and made note of the tube of hot stuff, for another day, another hot dog, …:). Thought a picture by Japadog would be more interesting ;) .
The weather is FANTASTIC – sunny and blue sky all day long!!!!!!
